Visual Arts Exhibition
On the 8th of March, the International Baccalaureate students opened their highly acclaimed Visual Arts Exhibition to visitors. Presenting their most impressive, immersive and thoughtful art pieces completed over the last 18 months, the students elaborated on themes such as “Manipulation of Reality,” “Night Terrors,” and “Human and the Machine.” Within a few hours after the opening ceremony featuring live performances, more than 350 people had already visited the event organised thanks to the hard work of the IB students and teachers.
Over 200 visitors left messages and thoughts about the exhibition and their experience. Some of them were:
> “I cannot believe all this art was created by students. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best exhibition I have ever seen.”
> “This might be the best arts event that has ever happened in this school.”
> “I saw parts of myself in many art pieces, and the feelings I experienced cannot be expressed with words.”
> “I can’t pick a favourite, as all of the pieces are incredibly thought provoking and just simply astonishing.”
> Some of the featured artists also commented:
> “Seeing so many people engage with the artworks, the artists, and their fellow visitors is amazing. The atmosphere feels like an actual art gallery rather than a student-organised event.”
> “It “popped off.” The exhibited art is just as incredible, if not better, than work done by professionals. Each artist's character and excellence shines through their original pieces.”
The IB Visual Arts Exhibition will continue until Friday, March 10, and everybody is welcome to visit it during school hours! During your visit, the present IB students would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about the event and the IB programme, guide you through the exhibition, and discuss their work with you.
Thank you to the school community for their support, and to the students for their extraordinary accomplishment!
